New industrial collaboration to unravel mechanisms underlying acute inflammation and inflammation resolution

2018-04-30

SBI has signed a new industrial project with Biologische Heilmittel HEEL GmbH to investigate mechanisms underlying acute inflammation and inflammation resolution. The work is based on an integrative computational pipeline, we earlier established and published, to predict receptor protein signatures underlying E2F1-mediated epithelial-mesenchymal transition (DOI:10.1038/s41467-017-00268-2).

In this project, the team has already started constructing a molecular interaction map around several clinical acute inflammatory indications. The team is in the process of integrating omics data to the map from selected medicines, already known for their role in inflammation resolutions, and generates acute inflammatory condition and drug-specific interactome to highlight key mechanisms associated with the drug in action.
