Department ranks first in performance evaluation

2012-07-04

Every year a cost-performance –ratio is calculated by the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, the so-called k-value.

The k-value is calculated by a formula, which takes into account the students/graduates, expended third-party funds, PhD degrees and habilitations and also costs of the relevant department in comparison to the average of Computer Scientists of the Hochschul-Informations-System (HIS).

The interpretation of the calculated measures:

>1 = good – excellent

= 1 = like HIS average

< 1 = lousy performance

We get the information that for 2011 the k-value calculated for the Department of Systems Biology and Bioinformatics is 2,333.

The other k-values of the departments of the Faculty lie between 0,375 and 1,793.
