Current Projects

Coordinating Systems Medicine across Europe (CASyM)
The Coordinating Action Systems Medicine (CASyM) is a multidisciplinary European consortium that joined forces to develop an implementation strategy (road map) for Systems Medicine. The CASyM road map is driven by clinical needs: It aims to identify areas where a systems approach will address clinical questions and solve clinical problems.

Research Interest

Research Coordinator & Editor of the Systems Medicine Web Hub

Systems medicine is an interdisciplinary approach to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and therapy of diseases. It complements clinical research with the expertise from molecular and cell biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, biostatistics and health informatics, to name only a few. This strong multidisciplinary aspect is a strength of systems medicine approaches, but it also makes it more difficult to access relevant information. is the home of systems medicine in the Internet. An initiative of the European Commission (DG Health Research), the Projekttraeger Juelich (PTJ) and the Federal German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF). The Systems Medicine Web Hub supports researchers with the communication of their efforts to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and therapy of diseases. The Hub is channeling information by focusing on news items, information about events, projects, positions, resources and publications.
