2018-05-03

iPlacenta (iplacenta.eu) is a Horizon 2020 European research training network, focussing on modelling the placenta for research to improve maternal and fetal health. The programme brings together experimental, clinical, engineering and theoretical groups to create a cross-European interdisciplinary team to model the placenta for early detection of preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction.

There are 15 early career PhD projects available. Applications should be made through the projects website: https://www.iplacenta.eu/recruitment.html.

The Rostock project is focussed on the identification of prognostic and diagnostic markers from multi-omics data, mapped onto a molecular interaction map. The candidate for the Rostock project should have a strong background in data analysis and mathematical modelling.

To this position applies a mobility rule. The respective candidate must not have worked for more than 12 months in Germany within the last three years. Furthermore, the candidate needs to be in his/her first four years of his/her research career. The four years are counted from the date a degree was obtained which formally entitles to embark on a doctorate in the country either in the country in wich the degree was obtained or in the country in which the research training is provided.

Starting date: 1st Sept 2018 or soon thereafter before Oct 2018. Duration: 36 months. Full time position.
