Cell Signalling Systems Biology CESISB 14th & 15th September 2006

Conference Theme

The two day conference is jointly organised by the QUASI & COSBICS EU FP6 supported research programmes. Both consortia are employing multidisciplinary functional genomics approaches to decipher basic mechanisms underlying signal transduction and intracellular communication as well as transcriptional activation.

Travel Information

Rostock is located at the baltic coast in the north-east corner of Germany. With many old towns, beaches, national parks, forests and lakes it is a popular region for holidays. The web-pages of the City of Rostock provide further information as do the web-pages of the University of Rostock, which was founded in 1419.

Rostock airport is one way to get here but there are also many train connections to Hamburg and Berlin (www.berlin-airport.de and www.hamburg-airport.de). Rostock lies also on the route of Euroline busses from and to Denmark, Sweden and Norway

We recommend the use of Intercity trains, which take one hour and 50 minutes between Hamburg main train station and Rostock. The airport in Hamburg is connected with the Jasper
Airport Express Bus to the train station. This service runs every 15min and takes 25 minutes.
Warnemünde is reached from Rostock main train station using the “S-Bahn” service, running every ten minutes, 29min duration. This route is part of the train network and can be booked with the train ticket.

Further information on travel by train and online bookings available at www.bahn.de. Advanced bookings allow considerable savings.

Train timetables:
Rostock->Hamburg
Hamburg->Rostock
Rostock->Berlin
Berlin->Rostock
